Reopening November 9th for Lessons

We are proud to announce our reopening for face to face lessons from Monday 9th of November. The day is here again!!! Thank you to the incredible efforts of the staff during the lockdown period. Thank you to the patience of our students. Everyone that have taken up the online lessons and those that continued to check in when we could see you in person again. A special get well to one of our drum teacher’s Nick Hughes, who had a bit of a bike accident! Two broken arms and a broken collarbone hasn’t stopped him from teaching. Take it easy!!

All instrumental lessons but singing can resume on premises. Teachers will continue to be available to see our singing students for lessons online. Band workshops will also be on hold for the time being. Our Boronia rd premises will remain in use until the end of the year. In 2021 we will operate in Boronia only from the 10 Floriston rd location as we rebuild our school.

Covid Safe Environment on Reopening

To adhere to government guidelines these steps we need to follow these steps. Please be familiar with these rules during this period of lessons:

• closure of the waiting areas at all three locations. Please wait in the car until it is lesson time.
• hand sanitizer to be used before all lessons. This will be available at the entrance of all three schools.
• ensuring physical distancing.
• face masks to be worn where practical to do so by staff and students.
• only staff and students to be on premises in order to keep contact records accurate.
• teachers may require extra time at completion of lessons to reset room to sanitised state. Patience everyone!

Teachers will also negotiate times with students that are continuing to take lessons online.

End of Year Virtual Concert

Teachers will discuss with students how they can participate in our 2020 End of Year Concert in lessons. Video can be taken in lessons or at home for inclusion. I would love to see what you have all been working away at in lessons this year!! Your teachers will be compiling their own concert in the next two weeks to showcase what we have learned through 2020. The concerts will be hosted on the Eastern Suburbs School of Music YouTube channel which this week hit 3000 subscribers. Please subscribe!
